This orange kale quinoa smoothie is creamy, refreshing, filling and packs a protein punch thanks to the quinoa. It's also filled with vitamin C and great for fighting off a cold/flu.
Ingredients
2 oranges, quartered, peeled & frozen
zest of 1 orange
1 handful kale
¼ cup cooked quinoa, chilled
¼ cup almond milk, cold
¼ of a chilled small avocado, about ¼ cup mashed*
1 frozen banana
½ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp cinnamon
Toppings:
orange slices
granola (I used my coconut orange cranberry granola)
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth
Pour into a bowl and top with orange slices and granola
Devour
Notes
*The smoothie is still really good without the avocado, but I like the extra creaminess it adds
