Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal Recipe

9 July, 2014 by Giselle Rochford 27 Comments

Hey Friends! How’s it goin?

A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I’ve been loving oatmeal in all it’s forms recently. It all started with the coconut cookie dough oatmeal and quickly went downhill (or uphill depending on how you look at it) from there.

My newest favourite has been this cinnamon roll oatmeal.

I’ve been a lifelong fan of cinnamon rolls. They’re sweet, doughy, and oh so yummy. And of course they’ve got cinnamon. What’s not to love?

For a while, my family actually bought cinnamon rolls every couple of days. One time, we ended up having a huge argument over who ate the last one and decided to tone it down.

But to tell you how seriously we take our cinnamon rolls: that argument still get’s brought up when things get heated at family gatherings…and it was over SIX years ago 😳

Anyway, back to the cinnamon roll oatmeal.

I’m not a huge fan of raisins – outside of cinnamon rolls – so I don’t usually have them in my pantry. When I got the idea for cinnamon roll oatmeal, I didn’t want to wait until I bought raisins so I decided to make to with craisins instead.

The craisins were a hit so the 5 (trillion) times I’ve made these oats since then, I’ve used craisins. You’re welcome to substitute the craisins in the recipe for raisins, of course, but I think I’ll stick with them for a little longer 🙂

I also added coconut oil because I wanted that same comfort food feel to the cinnamon roll oatmeal that you get from the real deal. The end result? Creamy, but without the overpowering taste of coconuts. Score!

My next project is to add some kind of glaze to the top of the cinnamon roll oatmeal, but I didn’t want to wait any longer before sharing this recipe with you. Enjoy!

Sounds yummy! My oat meal is just the oats, water, walnuts, raisins, cinnamon, and sugar. Nuke it for 2 minutes and I’m ready to go.

This looks so yummy and yet also healthy, which is my favorite kind of breakfast. Thanks for sharing 🙂
The other cinnamon roll oatmeal recipes I’ve seen had LOTS of sugar in them.
I have a cinnamon roll smoothie recipe I like. It does use banana as the sweetener, so you can taste that, and it also uses oats and cinnamon and raisins in it.

I’ve had cinnamon roll oatmeal before, but it was the instant, prepackaged oatmeal… This sounds SO much better, and healthier I’m sure! I love the addition of the craisins over the raisins- YUM!
