Island Mango & Peach White Tea Review

7 October, 2013 by Giselle Rochford 8 Comments

Day 6

The Tea:

I haven’t had a chance to hit up Teavana or David’s tea yet so I’m still relying on my supply of bagged teas. Tonight I decided to try Lipton’s Island Mango & Peach tea, one of their pyramid teas. According to the box it’s made with real orange leaves and lemongrass.

The Preparation:

This is a new one! Use one bag per cup and steep for 7 – 10 minutes in ~71°C water.

The Experience:

Today’s tea also reminded me of home. Although I didn’t really like the smell, the taste of the mangoes brought back a lot of memories of home and Trinidad in general…and also a craving for real mangoes!

The Smell:

This tea had an almost sickeningly sweet scent that made me hesitate to drink it. After having a couple cookies, the last thing I wanted was to drink a super sweet tea 😕

The Taste:

Fortunately, the overly sweet smell wasn’t an indicator of the taste. Though it was easy to identify the mango in the tea, it was pleasantly fruity and not overly sweet 🙂

The Benefits:

White tea is supposed to facilitate healthy teeth, gums and skin. I’ve only had one cup so I can’t be the judge of these side effects, but if I suddenly wake up with extra smooth skin and ridiculously shiny teeth, I’ll be sure to let you know 😉

Thanks for reading!

p.s. I’ve never had white before tonight, and honestly never new it existed! Glad I learned something new 🙂

What are you’re thoughts on white teas?

Ah, nice! I’ve found white teas to have a mellow or rather soft approach. Notorious for its medicinal effects and a charmer in my books. It’s one of those, “damp, winter, Sunday afternoon” type drinks.

Well it was a damp, fall night last night so that’s close enough I guess 🙂

Your reviewed made me ti try this white tea, specially the benefits you have listed, I was totally unaware of it. I also have a question on caffeine content of white tea, if you can write some article on it in near future. Thanks

Thankfully, the extremely sugary aroma did not translate to the flavour. The mango flavour was really noticeable, but the tea overall had a delightful fruitiness and was not too sweet.

I recently tried Lipton’s Island Mango & Peach White Tea too, and I completely relate to your experience. The aroma caught me off guard at first—it was almost too sweet—but the taste pleasantly surprised me. The fruity mango flavor reminded me of sunny afternoons and tropical vibes, making the cup feel comforting and nostalgic. I also liked that it wasn’t overpoweringly sweet, which kept it easy to sip while working or relaxing. Honestly, it felt a bit like having a calming companion nearby, similar to using an https://lovescape.com/ai-girlfriend-voice-chat ai girlfriend voice chat that keeps you engaged and cheerful while you unwind.
