Hey Friends! How’s it goin?
It’s been a while since I did a catch up type post and I figured since it’s a new month, now would be a good time. I have no direction for this post, and as usual it’s the middle of the night, so bear with me as I think out loud a day late (or a week early, depending on when I remember to actually link up).
1. The Giveaway is over!
I finally sorted through the entries for the Hemp Hearts giveaway and the winner is Eva of Wang Food. One thing I love about hosting giveaways is that I get exposed to blogs that I probably wouldn’t have found on my own. And since blog reading is kind of my addiction, it works out well. So, if you’re like me, you should check out Eva’s blog but, if nothing else, you should definitely take a look at her Instagram account. It’s the bomb dot com.
2. I discovered Yummly
Speaking of blogging and social media, I discovered a new-to-me website called Yummly recently. Well, I rediscovered it, since I signed up for it eons ago and then forgot all about it. Anyway, Yummly is pretty much like Pinterest for only food. Except you can’t really follow other people. It’s really all about finding and sharing food that you like.
I might write another post just about Yummly in the future, but for now I just wanted to introduce you to the new Yummly share buttons I’ve added to the blog. If you’re a Yummly user, I’d love if you would Yum recipes that you like on ExSloth!
3. I eat salads now.
Weird thing for a healthy living blogger to say right? But I’m not a huge fan of salads. Unless it’s a chopped salad, they’re kind of hard to eat in public…Trying to fit a forkful of grass leafy greens in your mouth isn’t always sexy easy. Plus, the ratio of green to everything else is always all wrong (in my opinion) and your toppings are the first to go. Then, your just left with a mound of grass.
But, like when I randomly started eating eggs in 2013 after a lifetime of hating them, I’ve been craving salads recently. So, I started making them. We’ll see how long it lasts.
4. I’m redesigning the blog!
This has been in the works for a while, and I’m super excited. I’m working with Madison to get the design of the blog to where I want it. Usually I do my own redesigns, but I’m more of a code person and the design part is not my strong suit. But, I really wanted a new header/logo so I decided to get some outside help.
It’s taking a bit longer than expected because – let’s be honest – I’m kind of particular when it comes to my blog design. But, the end is near so you’ll be seeing some new things around here soon!
5. I’m thinking of writing an eBook
I have no idea what it’ll be about. Whether it’ll be an eCookBook or an ebook dedicated to some kind of health eating/fitness/wellness tip. I write about so many things here that it’s kind of hard to narrow it down. But, I like writing, always have, and writing a book has always been on my bucket list. Granted, when I was younger, I thought it would be fiction, but plans change.

Story of my life
But, back to the point, I want to write something but I’m not sure what. Any ideas, friends?
6. I’m less than a month away from being done with my undergrad
HOLY SH!TB@LLS!!!! I can’t even express how being this close to the end of school is making me feel. On the one hand, I’m so ready to get out of UW. It was fun, but after 5 years here, I’m kind of over it. On the other hand, I don’t feel like I’m ready to be done with school yet. I’m studying Statistics with is fine. But after 5 years of this, I finally have an idea of what I want to do with my life and a Stats degree alone isn’t really gonna cut it.

Basically my home for the last 5 years
I definitely don’t want to go through another four years of undergrad, but I do think there’s more school somewhere in my future.
7. I might be moving
If you’ve been around a while you’d know that I’m from Trinidad and actually only came to Canada for school in 2010. Well, now that school is almost over, I may be making the move back to sweet, sweet T&T. It isn’t official yet or anything but it’s definitely something that I’m thinking about. I loved being in Canada, but I’m almost positive that another winter will be the end of me. It gets harder and harder every year. So as much as I’ll miss the life I’ve built here, I’m thinking I miss being warm more.

The view from my balcony at home in Trini
I’m not sure how this will impact the blog – if at all – but I just wanted to keep ya in the loop.
And, on that sad note, I’m done with the life update!
What about you?
What’s been going on with you recently? Are you on Yummly? Do you eat salads? What type of book should I write?

I used to not be a very big fan of salads either, but for me, it was just because I wasn’t making em’ on my own and throwing in everything I liked! 😛

Exciting news to share! As far as salads… mehhhh. I used to eat them every day for lunch but I got sick of them and the thought of eating another actually made me gag! If someone else is making a salad for me, I’m all about it! But making it myself? no thanks 🙂

Congrats on moving from that cold place especially coming from a tropical place. I LOVE salads but they don’t always have to be green like CONCH salad. ME LOVES!!!

I just recently hopped back on the salad bandwagon as well. I went from LOVING them and eating a huge one every.single.day, to not wanting to have anything to do with anything green. I actually think that adding greens to my smoothies helped me get my taste back for them…
